“Art should comfort the disturbed and disturb the comfortable.” -Banksy

Update! A new series of poems in progress have a tab! Nineteenth Street is a collection of intimate stories between neighbors. The characters are created through their mischievous actions in their town. The tab is visual and experimental to allow us to comprehend the surface of the stories and feel comfortable exploring beneath it.

Projects are promising works in the making. I post makeshift novellas in this section which you can read for free. They are works-in-progress so any shifts in the stories are announced on my Instagram, and I am currently reading chapter-by-chapter of The Tartarus Tale on Instagram if you rather listen!

Hollow Earth is a poetry collection of fragmented stories to create a dystopian tale. Her pairing of ominous word play and repetitive metaphors influenced by Celtic mythology opens the door for analysis and interpretations of the works. She reflects on the desperation and beauty of life in the shattered allegorical worlds, hoping to rekindle the multi-layered aspects of poetry; a practice seen in the classics.

“Art is essential though we have turned it into a concealed commodity. I write to express myself and to be understood. I must trust that you all want to understand me. I refuse to believe I am the only person who dwells on matters of the heart rather than reality, or the physical apparition of life. I am a surrealist, creating fragments of a story through poetry and like a dream, they are driven by emotions. I post most of my work on my website because I want to share my thoughts with you and perhaps inspire a few of your own.”

Gresha received her BA in English Literature from BSC in her hometown of Birmingham, Alabama and she is currently pursuing her MFA in Poetry at Hunter College in NYC. Gresha draws inspiration from the Classics, Christianity, and Mythology in hopes of rekindling the art of storytelling. She sees herself as a vessel for the divine to use to make itself known.
